Before downloading our sample letters of intent, look at these helpful resources:
• SFU’s How to Write Your Way to Grad School
• Letter of Intent Explanation and Samples
By viewing the Speech and Hearing Club at SFU’s sample letters of intent, we expect the following from our members: That your letter of intent was written by you and in your own words. You are aware that the incorporation of material from the SHLUB’s example letters of intent or a paraphrase of such material will be considered plagiarism.
We recommend you write your letter of intent first before looking at the examples. We believe in using them for formatting, flow, structure, approach, or if you are uncertain about adding this or that point. Remember, your letter of intent should be entirely unique—the story you have to tell will drive the letter.
