About

The Speech and Hearing club, called the SHLUB, operates out of Simon Fraser University in Canada.

Please consider making a donation, for the continuation of our good work. A minimum donation of 2.00 is set.

What is the SHLUB?

Mandate: This club is for prospective Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists who want to maximize their ability to get into graduate school.

Semester Vision: The purpose of this club is primarily to create a positive environment for prospective Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists as they work towards graduate school. Additional goals include aiding students in developing leadership, administrative, and teamwork abilities; allowing students to meet friends with similar goals; increasing awareness of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology as attainable fields for any student; and helping communities with speech and hearing needs. We are dedicated to giving students the tools necessary to become professionals in Canada.

Are you a Simon Fraser University (SFU) student looking for an interesting club? Are you interested in pursuing speech-pathology or audiology as a career? Are you looking for help and resources on how to get into graduate school in speech-pathology or audiology? Do you want to get involved in virtual speech and hearing themed events? Are you looking to find like-minded linguistics students?

Then you should join the Speech and Hearing Club at SFU! We offer chances for students to get better acquainted with speech-pathology and audiology as possible careers, provide resources to facilitate the process of getting there, and answer any questions students may have. Our goal is to maximize your chances of getting into graduate school, even when things are virtual.

If you’re interested and eligible (must be an SFU student), click below!

We strive to be as transparent about our objectives, structure, membership, and leadership as possible.

We require our Executive Board to uphold their duties to the best of their ability.
